My daughter reached an important American milestone yesterday – her first credit card offer.  Four months shy of her 2nd birthday I’m not entirely sure she’s ready to handle the responsibility, but I did send the response card in to see what would happen (I circled her date of birth and indicated her occupation as ‘pre-school student’).  I’ll keep you posted.

That is the perfect response! I can’t wait to hear what happens.

    She’s way behind:

This may be one of the funniest things I have read in some time. Do keep us abreast of the outcome.
    Great blog, BTW.

well..I am a business analyst in a fortune 500 credit card company (based in mclean, va). Most credit card companies have a name scoring process through which they determine prospects. I wonder how your daughter’s came up in that list.

  • Here’s a little challenge. See if you can get her 100K worth of credit before she hits 5!

  • What scares me is the data…how did she end up on the list, where did they get her name, etc. Just think about the data/paper trail that will follow your daughter (and my sons) by the time they hit 18…scary world.
